A Little Info...

I interupt this night to tell you that Virginia now has a new welcome sign! I was driving to Wytheville on Friday and saw it with my own eyes! I wanted to snap a picture for those of you who haven't yet seen it, however, I was driving. Not wanting to disapoint, a post without pictures, I sent the internet on a mission. The mission was accomplished with blazingly fast speed and processing. Here they are for your viewing enjoyment...

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!!!!!

Thought I would share a few Valentine facts (thanks to World Magazine):

* Six percent of currently married women have been married for 50 years or longer.

* Last year the nation's nearly 30,000 jewlery stores sold $2.5 billion in merchandise in February alone.

* American's eat 26 pounds of chocolate a year per capita, at a total cost of about $15 billion.

Happy Valentine's Day to all of you married folks! And for all of you single folks, as a friend of mine says, Happy Singles Awareness Day! :) Hope it's fantastic!!!

Sacrifice

What is sacrifice? Is it the giving up of your favorite thing for a month maybe longer depending? It can be defined as: "The surrender or destruction of something prized or desirable for the sake of something considered as having a higher or more pressing claim." The ultimate sacrifice was God giving his perfect willing son for wretched sinners "of whom I am chief". Faith the basis of all life. "By faith Abrham offered up Isaac." The faith of our fathers is easily forgotten. As a nation we have forgotten the living and true source of life. Have a cup of cheer. What cheer might would that be? Men and women sacrifice their lives for us defending our freedom. A cup of cheer indeed! How can their be cheer when war, death, pain and suffering surround us? A thick veil is hung over our eyes I did not get my way. It's a land of free choice and liberty afterall. Are we so warped as to forget, do unto others as you would have them do unto you? Just so things don't rock my boat life is good, the wind is in my sails. Smooth sailing from here. This mind set put us where we are today. A state of sin, dispair, and most of all a need for a sacrifice-the Sacrifice. Thanks to Jesus the perfect atoning sacrifice was made whole. I love because he first loved me.

Happy Birthday to Me

"The first fact about the celebration for a birthday is that it is a way of affirming defiantly, and even flamboyantly, that it is a good thing to be alive."

Indeed I am very thankful that God has given me another year of life and family to share it with!! What a blessing to be loved so much!!
A new lamp to read by into the wee hours of the morning (just on special occasions)

Nothing Much

Nothing foreign has taken residence in the garage since the coon aside from our regular canine. Who is happy to have her own space again!
The Wizard of Oz wind that touched down last night did make part of a tree split. I say part of a tree because it was not a little branch you could run over with you car wheel because you did not see it reclining in the road. IF you did run over it I am very sure the limb would win and the car would look quite defeated! "Uhh, Dad I just ran over something." "WHAT!?" "Well......it was actually part of a tree that jumped in front of me. Its not THAT bad. I think the motor is still there." How does one not notice such things until ALMOST upon it, thus stopping to say, "WHOA!!. Where did you fall from?"
Clara introduced me to a fun website that has many blog templates. Thus the past few nights I have been trying find one not only that suits the theme of my blog but also my personality. For now this one is going to be tagged it. I do have things to do besides sit in a rocking chair and mess with the look of my blog. And who will notice if I put a new page element here and take one away there? Only OCD people such as myself do such things until they are perfectly perfect (or so it looks) and upon seeing your finished results say, "AHH, how refreshing to look at this evenly arranged page" as if it were an ice cold Coke.
I write this post as the parents have turned in for the night and I am wide awake wondering what I can do to amuse myself and busy my mind. (As my dear family know I do tend to be somewhat of a night owl) So I will close this post and wish all of you wondering what has come upon me a wonderfuly good night!
