A Laugh and a Lesson

One of my 'grandfathers' in my church told me a joke on Wednesday night. I thought it was funny and post-worthy.

Question: "What is smarter than a Song Bird?"

Actually now I am going to put another portion of "Pilgrim's Progress" before I put the answer. Perhaps if I hold you in suspense you will laugh a little and also Pilgrim's Progress has so much we can learn from just a little portion.

"Then I saw in my dream, that the Interpreter took Christian by the hand, and led him into a place where was a Fire burning against a wall, and one standing by it, always casting much water upon it, to quench it; yet did the fire burn higher and hotter.
Then said Christian, "What means this?"
Then Interpreter said, this Fire is the Work of Grace that is wrought in the heart; he that casts water upon it, to extinguish and put it out, is the Devil: But in that thou seest the Fire notwithstanding burn higher and higher, thou shalt also see the reason of that. So he had him about to the back side of the wall, where he saw a Man with a Vessel of Oil in his hand, of which he did also continually cast (but secretly) into the Fire.
Then said Christian, What means this?
The Interpreter answered, this is CHRIST, who contiually with the Oil of his Grace maintains the work already begun in the heart; by the means of which, notwithstanding what the Devil can do, the souls of his people prove gracious still. And in that thou sawest, that the Man stood behind the wall to maintain the Fire; this is to teach thee, That it is hard for the Tempted to see how this Work of Grace is maintained in the soul. "

Perhaps now you will be ready for this answer. It might make you laugh so don't be afraid to laugh out loud. (It will make people wonder why you are laughing at an object that doesn't talk back) :)

Georgia on my Mind

This past weekend Dad and Mom took me a little over half way and met Chrisa so I could spend the weeked with her. (It was very convenient that Chrisa is on Spring Break this week!) These pictures are a little random so just scroll down and I will explain.

This tells you how exciting the drive to Spartanburg. Dad and I had a headache so Mama drove for over half of the trip. the sign reads Flag Pond. Do you know where that is located? (Not sure you can get there from here. Perhaps in a boat, plane or train)

Yet another bored picture. This was at the restraunt where we met Chrisa and Matt. We got there a few mins before them so I got the camera out again. Its amazing of the things you notice when you really look!
This picture is yet again a little strange. Chrisa played in a scholarship audition on Saturday (And she won as well! Congrats Chrisa!!!!) Since it was in Atlanta and traffic is unpredictable we got there a little early. These flowers were actually very pretty however, the fence was in the way of a clear shot. :)

Chrisa and Meg are doing a duo recital later this year. They wanted to make sure their dresses don't clash since they didn't buy them at the same time! Ya'll are looking very pretty!
The following two pictures were taken on the way home. The first one was in Boone, NC. The other one was closer to home. I thought the sky was gorgeously beautiful. Only God could make a sky so beautiful and for HIS own glory!! (Sorry the picture is a little blurry. :( )

Pilgrim's Progress

We are studying Pilgrim's Progress on Wednesday nights at church. Tonight's was on Passion and Patience. This is part of the section that we covered tonight:

I saw, moreover in my dream, that Interpreter took him by the hand, and had him into a little room, where two children sat. The name of the eldest was Passion, and the name of the other was Patience. Passion seemed to be much discontented, but Patience was very quiet. Then Christian asked:
What is the reason for the discontent of Passion?
Inter.: The governor of them would have him stay for his best things till the beginning of next year; but he will have all now; but Patience is willing to wait.
Then I saw one came Passion, and brought him a bag of treasure, poured it down at his feet; the which he took up and rejoiced therein, and withal laughed Patience to scorn. But I beheld but a while, and he had lavished all away, and had nothing left him but rags.

A Cold Sunday

This morning we woke up to snow yet again! (It was snowing when we went to bed but Mom and I neglected to notice!) Thankfully, we were able to have church. God is definitely in control of the weather and all the details in between!(As I am typing this all of the snow is gone, but a few patches were the sun has not hit yet. ) And in GA (when we talked to Chrisa this morning) she did not even have to break out a jacket! Just another randomn picture Mama took after church. Yes, I did take some of Dad and Mom but don't know if they would be happy with me if I posted it!

Shoes

Chrisa, this picture is for you! Like a true 'woman',(does being 21 classify you as a woman?) new shoes. The excuse is I bought them to go with an outfit. (But I can wear them with more than that outfit) :) Hope all of ya'll are having a great first two days of March!
