Canada (Part 2)

Here are some more pictures of our travels! These were taken at Prince Edward Island, where I might mention there were quite a few jelly fish washed up on the shore. We did not actually swim in the water because it was a bit chipper. Meg's dad was our photographer for most of these. Enjoy!

Canada (Part 1)

Yes! We are in Canada!! It is GORGEOUS here and the weather has been superb! We are off to Prince Edward Island to see Anne and Diana today!

There was a lady walking around this fountain (she is cropped in this pic) when we walked by and when we walked back by she was still there. However, she was wet as if she had been playing in the fountain. I guess we all have different ideas of fun... (I have my arms around Chrisa just in case she lost her footing...haha Don't I look ready to catch her?)

A view of downtown...

They do get an abundant amount of snow in the winter, however with 80* weather Falling Ice shouldn't be a problem. Then again you never know when you might need to watch out for the hazardous frozen water molecules...

Venturing Around

Miss Daisy had us laughing tonight. She ventured outside the garage today but despite her freedom she didn't go too far. She is so fast and jumps around like someone is going to pounce upon her. Tonight she decided to climb a tree. Flash speed she sped up the tree but was not to quick so get back down. Dad had to assist her a bit. It's a wonder she didn't fall out the way she was climbing!

In the tree...

twisting about...

turned around, in need of help.

Weekend Wonderings

The other day when I went walking I happened upon some thriving blackberry bushes. They intrigued me in wanting to pick them, so, I set out this morning on a mission to get a bucket of blackberries. So...
tonight for dessert mama made us this delicious cobbler...yum!Welcome and meet the newest member of our family Ms. Daisy! A friend of Mama's gave her to us and she arrived here on Friday morning. We have been keeping her in the garage until she gets use to her new surroundings. The first day she whimpered almost all day but she did a bit better today and even came out of hiding when we opened the door. Here she is enjoying a drink.

And Yet Again...

This evening I went on a walk and took my camera along. I couldn't resist, despite the fact there have been multiple pictures of deer recently, to post this one. If it looks like it's ready to bolt, that's because she did.

AND, here is the reason I brought my camera along. On the gravel road below our house the dirt had dried and left this cool formation. The only real problem was I had forgotten we had a slight rain last night and it was no longer as firm as it once was...
I realized this after walking on it and my shoe squished in the mud. How the other shoe avoided the mud is yet to be found out. All in all it was a nice evening for a stroll in the 'neighborhood' and was quite refreshing!

A Determined Worker

I was walking into the house today and when I looked down I saw something very strange looking crawling. As it was an ant was dragging a wasp (I will assume that you reading this know that it was dead). It was funny to see such a small creature set on taking this great find back to his home. This reminded me of Proverbs 6:6, "Go to the ant, O sluggard, Observe her ways and be wise." Another version I came across online says, "Consider the ant, you lazy bum. Watch its ways, and become wise." This ant was a vivid reminder to me today that despite how large our circumstance are, God is the sustain-er of life and will continue to guide and keep his children in the midst of them. How much I take for granted! I forget to thank God when I can carry the load without difficulty, but when I struggle to stay upright is when I, like Israel, start to grumble and forget how many times God helps and guards His own.

Wings, Droplets and Spots

Hornets have built this very beautiful nest on our house. I tried to catch a shot of them flying about but they were quicker than my camera taking skills. Not that you would have been able to see the hornet, however they were very busy in their house. To read about the hornet go here (where there is also an up close photo).
Mama's day lilies are in full bloom. This one had water droplets on it. It was very pretty.

The fawns visited us again this weekend. They were so cute and playful!
However, their mother took advantage of the green foliage and patiently waited on her playful children.

July 4th!

Happy July 4th! Today we headed towards Exit 7 where we met up with the Cornett's to do a little shopping (If Will could talk he would probably have said we just drug him around from store to store when he really just wanted to sleep:). Then went to R & C's house for a cookout. We had some expert grill-men to do our cooking...
and Will was decked out in his stars and stripes for the occasion.
Happy July 4th all!

Happy July!

Sorry about the lack of posts recenly! It's been a buzzz of activities around our house because Chrisa and Sam have decided to move their wedding up just a bit to September 20th. :) In other words we will all be going around like chickens with our heads cut off until it gets here. These deer and fawns however, seemed to be having (or so I was told) when they visited our yard the other day. I hope you all are having a good start to July! Happy 4th! :~)
