I hope you all had a good memorial day! This past weekend we had our annual get together with Dad's family in SC-I will post pictures after I sort through them. Sam and D.B. came over for a little cook out tonight. It rained off and on all day but it did clear off after supper, so I ventured outside for a bit-the mountains and flowers were exceptionally pretty after the rain!

The Month of May

is here! I wanted to find some 'interesting' facts about May so I searched and this is what I found-fact singular, "Several stories are passed around to show how the month of May was named. The most widely accepted explanation is that it was named for Maia, the Roman goddess of spring and growth. Her name related to a Latin word that means increase or growth." (Source)

A Morning Catch...

And tonight's supper...POSSUM STEW! Mmm good...

It would seem we are a magnet for opossums getting in the garage-find a feast of cat food. Monday D and M spent the better part of the day cleaning out the garage and only found traces of the invader. So, Dad borrowed a trap and set it Tuesday night-the bait was cat food. This morning he was in the trap-I do have to say he does look a bit forlorn and sad. He has gone the way of all the earth-with a little help.

Barney-the Cat

Even if this is the noisiest cat in the neighborhood, he sure is cute. Sunday Mama and I went on a walk and Barney followed us-meowing the entire time. He reminded me of the passage in 1 Samuel 6:12: "And the cows took the straight way in the direction of Beth-shemesh; they went along the highway, lowing as they went, and did not turn aside to the right or to the left. And the lords of the Philistines followed them to the border of Beth-shemesh."

A Little Time Together

March 10-12 we, my family and I, went to the Greenville Theological Seminary Conference. However, I did not take any pictures while we were there. The weather was gorgeous and warm! However, it was flurrying snow when we got home!
The Soundara's came home with us and stayed until today.
Here are some pictures from Saturday. The Cornett's came over for the afternoon and the kiddos had so much fun playing together!!

Carrie and Chrisa bought me this map you put the state quarters in when they first came out. It started in 1999-yep that was 10 years ago-and I was just 13! So here I am with the finished map with all of the quarters. Time does tend to go by somewhat quickly!
