South to Nashville

This weekend I went to Nashville to see my newest neice (Chrisa was already there). I began my journey on Thursday evening around 5:30. Near Bristol there are large flashing signs that read, "Accident ahead 65 miles". So here I am still crusin' along thinking it would be clear when I get 65 miles ahead. BINGO, WRONG!! At mile marker 29 both lanes go down to a crawl. Stop go stop go. Little did I know it would take me 2 1/2 hours to go three miles!! By this time it was too late to continue onward (technically my night vision isn't the greatest). So I made an almost round trip of 190 miles in 5 hours and spend the night in Abingdon with Robbie and Carrie. (Thanks for housing me!!) Despite the traffice it was a fun trip and enjoyed seeing all of the Soundaras!!

Does this picture show you how bored I was?
Then again it's not everday you get to see the interstate at a crawling pace.

DAISIES

This evening after supper I was out strolling (with Peaches) and happend upon the BEAUTIFUL daisies scattered along the edge of the road. I could not resist stopping and picking a few!! They are so gorgeous to gaze at and make you want to smile or laugh! Every little detail shows us that God's creation is magnificent! Then I laughed when I thought of Anne of Green Gables (Or Avonlea) when Anne ( spelled with an 'e') comes home for the summer and she picks a bouquet of wild flowers and tells Marilla to "drink in the blossoms". However, if some of us did this it would make us sneeze and perhaps a bit stuffy headed. :)

Window Treatments

Last weekend we did some spring cleaning of the windows. Mama wanted to do away with the blinds so we purchased some new curtains (i.e. window treatments). Since someone took the camera to Nashville these pictures were taken with my phone (thus the strange angles). My picture taking skills was shut down on this one. Oh well....:)

Let us thank the Lord that Mama and baby are both doing well!! (The Soundara's blog link is on the right if you would like to see pictures of her! :) )

Happy Mother's Day to all of you Mothers!!It was such a beautiful day!! So after church we took advantage of the gorgeous day and took some pictures. The Cornett's also joined us for lunch but those pictures will arrive later. (Another post:) )

Can you see the one who is taking the picture in the window? (Isn't that a cool feature? haha) We did not notice this until we looked at them later. Everything (that was green) looked extremely green today!

Birthday Bash

Today Mama, Carrie, RA and I met some of Mom's family in North Carolina to help celebrate Abbey's 5th Birthday (a few days early). It is hard to get good pictures of people eating and children running about. Do the pictures prove or disprove my statement?

Cousins Elizabeth, RuthAnne and Abbey.
The next two pictures are Uncle Mike's neices. They are twins. Sleeping quite soundly depsite the noise.

And here is the big birthday girl! Happy Birthday Abbey!

Pilgrims Again

Some of you are probably bored of hearing about Pilgrim's Progress but here is another section about Pilgrim!
I looked then after Christian, to see him go up the hill, where I perceived he fell from running to going, and from going to clambering upon his hands and his knees, because of the steepness of the place. Now about the midway to the top of the hill was a pleasant Arbor, made by the Lord of the hill for the refreshment of weary travellers. Thither, therefore, Christian got, where also he sat down to rest him: then he pulled his roll out of his bosom, and read therein to his comfort; he also now began afresh to take a review of the coat or garment that was given to him as he stood by the cross. Thus pleasing himself awhile, he at last fell into a slumber, and thence into a fast sleep, which detained him in that place until it was almost night; and in his sleep his roll fell out of his hand. Now, as he was sleeping, there came one to him, and awakend him, saying, "Go to the ant, though sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise." And with that, Christian suddenly started up, and sped him on his way, and went apace till he came to the top of the hill.
(After meeting Mistrust and Timorous Christian continues on his way. )
Thus, therefore, he now went on, bewailing his sinful sleep, saying, O the wretched man that I am, that I should sleep in the midst of difficulty! that I should so indulge the flesh as to use that rest for ease to my flesh which the Lord of thehill hath erected only for the relief of the spirits of pilgrims! How many steps have I taken in vain! Thus is happend to Israel; for their sin they were sent back again by the way of the Red Sea; and I am made to tread those steps with sorrow, which I might have trod with delight, had it not been for this sinful sleep. How far might I have been on my way by this time! I made to tread those steps thrice over, which I needed not to have trod but once: yea, now also I am like to benighted, for the day is almost spent. O that I had not slept!
This section of Christian's journey speaks to me because I, for one, like to sleep. However, sometimes I feel guilty for staying in bed wishing I didn't have to get up. Then I think of how much I could have gotten done if only I had gotten up. And how I should be thankful I can get out of bed and serve the Lord at my job and perhaps make someones day a bit brighter!
