Christmas (part 2)
Here are a few pictures of Christmas at the Soundara's. There was never a dull moment with three kids running round! (I must note, I feel a bit out of sync because most of the blogs I've seen did a slide show. Our Internet is a little temper-mental & it would be a shame to do the entire show only to loose it due to a strong wind. )

Alena woke up a few times on Christmas Eve-I am sure it was from excitement-& had to be awakened. Not to worry she was in on the action in no time...

Christmas (part 1)
Merry Christmas!! I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas celebrating Christ's birth.
Tuesday night we had dinner with the Cornett's & Johnsons's.
Will was decked out in his Christmas attire-hat & all! A side of Sam most of you haven't seen-quite the fashion statement!

Garland & Such
My Christmas tree has needed some garland since I put it up but alas it is still devoid. Now I am thinking it won't get any since next week is Christmas & we will be traveling to the Soundara's on Christmas Eve. One of my favorite features is the miniature tree skirt.

Christmas Time's a Comin'!
Thursday night we headed down to Cedar Bluff to hear Mountain Mission school choir sing. We had never heard them & enjoyed hearing some sounds of the season...
Walking back to the car I snapped a picture of mama and me. If my arms were a bit longer maybe it wouldn't be quite so distorted....Frosty the Snowman with two eyes made out of coal. He tipped his hat and winkled his carrot noes as walked by. Look closely & you will see too ;~)

Tonight was the Frontier Christmas at the Historic Crab Orchard Museum. It was brisk-y outside but the cozy fires made you feel all warm-n-toasty-that is until you left the cozy cabin.
"We just got a letter, we just got a letter. We just got a letter, wonder who it's from?"
The Johnson family sang carols...
Dad had to fill-er-up with gas on the way home & I enjoyed playing with the night setting on my camera (is that called owl vision?). As I snapped this picture a police cruiser came whizzing down the road at an alarming rate thus the look on dad's face...
This Avalanche pulled up beside us and I couldn't help but notice how grimy it was. Perhaps due to the recent snows?Waiting at the traffic light-wonder what's on value card this week?

Carrie, RA & Will came in for the day. The kiddos spent the day in various activities (naps included). RuthAnne & I made gingerbread cookies before supper-which were very tasty. After supper RuthAnne asked us all if we would like another cookie. They were even decorated with creative icing designs.

Happy December to all!! I hope all of you had a wonderful first day of the last month of the year. As the Christmas season is coming around quite quickly, may we remember the true reason for the season in the midst of the chaos of shopping and visiting with family and friends.
